June 2025 Stewardship Update

June has come to an end and so has our main stewardship event. First and most importantly, join us with a big thank you to the volunteers who worked extremely hard in all weather conditions to help maintain your trails. Second another big thank you to Joe and Denise for allowing us to camp on their land and make our jobs easier. AOHVA, provided the grant to allow us to bring in equipment to work on Lesueur and Cow, thank you to Tom for working on Lesueur and Dannon for working on Cow. Unfortunately, there was more damage to Lesueur and we only got a couple days of work in, we will have to go back later this summer to complete. Dannon got all the work scheduled on Cow completed, a great job by both men with their equipment. We ended up cancelling the day volunteers for Saturday and Sunday because of the rain and snow, but with over 20 volunteers camping we scheduled work throughout the days from Wednesday to Sunday to complete as much as we could. The club provided a deep fry night Friday and Rib BBQ Saturday to fuel our great volunteers. There were also snacks and beverages throughout the event to help them stay nourished, Thank you to the volunteers for cooking and Malcolm for his tent. Ralph's also donated a gift package that was drawn and won by Brian, enjoy. As for the remainder of the work, there was a Jeep riding the ATV trails back on Cabin who damaged the mats put in last year, we were able to get a great crew in to rebuild, replace and enforce the section. The remainder of the weekend we focused on manually cleaning up some waterspouts and clearing down trees and willows on the trails, we were not able to reach all, so will schedule some day events in the future. Lastly, thank you to the Director's for the organization and scheduling of the event. Take a peak at some of the pictures. Until our next event!!!
